The Gorge is -

GORGEOUS. Absolutely gorgeous in fact. We've just been away with two other couples in our motorhomes. We had lunch and coffee at MacLean on the way down, went through Grafton to check out the jacarandas, then stayed on the river at Copmanhurst the first night, and spent the rest of the time at "The Gorge". It's a working cattle property with a 10 kilometre river frontage onto the Clarence River which also includes Clarence Gorge. You can camp there or rent out other accommodation. While we were there they were mustering which added a bit of fun to our visit. Warren also took us up the river in one of their tinnies. On the way home we did a detour and went across to Lawrence to have lunch. The photographs don't do the trip justice but you'll get some idea of how beautiful the area is - we did all our cooking on an open fire in the camp ovens and the potjie that Barbara and Andrew gave us - its the South African version of our Aussie Camp Ovens.
