Another relaxing day at Marburg. We went for a walk to the famous Antique shop. Rob and I had been there a couple of times before, but for most of the other motorhomers, it was their first real visit to Marburg township. It's a bit off the beaten track, but not far off the Warrego Highway. Because it was still hot we had an icecream and sat outside the little corner store. Townships must love it when the motorhomers visit for the weekend - they would put a fair amount of money into communitities.
Mal Sprenger, a Marburg identity mainly because he owns Sprenger Produce along the highway and sells that well known pineapple crush, is also a magician. He came to entertain us during our happy hour which was a lot of fun. Another very famous Marburg occasion, is the weekly dance in the showground hall - it has been going for years in fact one of our members used to attend the dance in his courting days. Its amazing that its lasted all these decades and is still the same old fashioned dance. People come from Brisbane and Toowoomba to waltz along. The band changes regularly which also changes the style of dance. Quite a few of our members went along but didn't last till midnight when they played Auld lang syne.
