Did you see the story on Australian television about the Christmas lights being turned on along the Avenue Des Champs Elysees in Paris? I didn't .... but if I had it would never compare with seeing the real thing. What an amazing sight with all the beautiful lights leading up to the beautifully lit Arc de Triomphe with an enormous French flag flying.
Not to mention the Eiffel tower which literally twinkles for a period then turns a brilliant gold, until it "twinkles" again.
The light, the noise and people in their droves, cars blowing horns with frustration in the traffic, the police scooting through on motorbikes, blowing whistles, sirens and everything this is completely foreign to me. I could have stayed there all night taking it all in.
How can I ever thank David and Susan for bringing me here to Paris.
