Today I met friends that I used to work with at TSS at Mano's Cafe and Restaurant at Ross Evans Nursery, Coombabah. Its a good spot for a meal or coffee and cake. The fact that they make their own cakes gets me in!!!! There is nothing quite like home made cake. Mine was lime and hazelnut.
An extra big king tide tomorrow has people in Brisbane worried....and no wonder! It's still hard to comprehend the extent of the disaster. Already $200,000,000 has been paid out to individuals in emergency payments. Many mines are full of water so can't work to capacity which means there are dozens of ships lined up off shore waiting for coal. One third of the states rail network has been washed away or been damaged - that is affecting what coal does come out of the mine, not being able to be railed to the ports. The ferry service in the upper reaches of the Brisbane river won't be open for about 90 days - terminals and ports were smashed or washed away.

One of my favourite hibiscus in flower today - we also grew this one in PNG.
