These exotic gardens are adjacent to the ruins of a 12th centurty fortified castle which once surrounded the perched village of Eze, almost like a balcony. The gardens and especially the view deserve a separate mention.
The castle was actually torn down in 1706 because of its strategic position but in 1950 this wonderful garden full of succulents was created. It cost 5euro each to explore the exotic plants and the vista over the Mediterranean was just breathtaking. You can even see Corsica in the distance. The sculptures added something special. I particularly liked the one called Barbara as it reminded me of my daughter-in-law, as she shares the same name.
