We drove along the foreshore of the hammerhead penninsula where Juan-les-Pins is on the promontory, on through Antibes which is full of history (Napoleon lived and was temporarily imprisoned there) but I've told you about how much I like Antibes before. Cagnes-sur-Mer is pretty impressive with its massive accommodation building, Nice, Cap Ferrat where Beatrice Rotschild lived in her "dream villa" which she used for holidays and to entertain at her famous garden parties. The villa remains as a monument to her. We didn't actually go down and check it out but the view from the road is magnificent.
David stopped at a few vantage points for me to take some photographs and in particular Villefranche which has a beautiful natural harbour and gorgeous buildings.
You'll also notice another space invader!!

The Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat which is between Nice and Monaco - its the place to go to rub shoulders with the rich and famous but be warned a meal can cost $1000. Its the hotel of choice for people like Madonna, Sharon Stone and George Clooney because of its exclusivity!!

The ferry leaving Nice for Sardinia.
The Mediterranean is a beautiful soft colour!!
