It's been a momentous day! Samuel started school - he, like all my grandsons, is growing up far too quickly. Tropical Cyclone Yasi hit north Queensland in the early hours of this morning almost desimating Tully, Cardwell and surrounding areas. So far there have been no reports of loss of life or serious injury. The Government seems to have done an excellent job with their evactuation orders. But it is early days yet - some areas are totally isolated with so much debri that authorities can't reach them. Telstra's mobile towers have run out of battery power (the electricity went off at the height of the storm) so in some cases there is no communication either. I am sure there will be more to tell you in the days ahead. And, it is my friend Angela's birthday so three of us went to the Sheraton for breakfast, to celebrate.
